Al-Kharafi: Our partnership is strategic with charitable organizations...locally and internationally
KUNA - Secretary General of the General Secretariat of Endowments Dr. Abdulmohsen Al-Jarallah Al-Kharafi said that the Secretariat has a strategic partnership with many local, regional and international charitable organizations. Al-Jarallah Al-Kharafi added in a press statement yesterday after receiving the Chairman of the Egyptian Endowments Authority and Chairman of the Arab Endowments Union Salah Junaidi that the Endowments Secretariat is keen to cooperate with brothers and sisters based on its representation of the state coordinating the endowments file in the Islamic world since 1997
He stated that the Secretariat's achievements are numerous in this field and include more than 13 projects that serve the countries of the Arab and Islamic world and cover most areas of endowment, charitable and humanitarian work in order to revive the tradition of endowment and enhance its role in the Islamic world. He congratulated the visiting guest on his selection as Secretary-General of the Arab Endowments Union, which was approved by the Ministers of Endowments of Arab countries to be a new Arab tributary that achieves the true concept of Arab economic integration, working under the umbrella of the Arab Economic Unity Council affiliated with the League of Arab States and headquartered in Cairo.
For his part, the head of the Egyptian Endowments Authority, Salah Junaidi, expressed in a similar statement his thanks for Kuwait's initiative and its sponsorship of the establishment of the headquarters of the Arab Endowments Union and its expenses, especially since its establishment is in line with its role as a coordinator of the endowment file in the Islamic world, praising the role of the General Secretariat of Endowments in serving Islam and Muslims in the world as a whole. Junaidi said that the meeting reviewed aspects of cooperation between members of the Arab Endowments Union and the agreement to exchange expertise, experiences, research and studies that encourage and help revive the tradition of endowments and spread its culture and prepare to hold several conferences through the union.
He stated that the Arab Endowments Union aims to manage and invest Arab endowment funds in important economic and development projects, in addition to establishing joint Arab companies in various economic sectors in coordination between Arab endowment bodies and their ministries to achieve Arab economic integration. Following the meeting, Junaidi toured the various departments of the General Secretariat of Endowments and was briefed on the Secretariat’s experience and learned about its work mechanism, especially with regard to inventorying and documenting endowments and the best method for investing endowment funds and implementing the conditions of donors. He also visited the Endowment Sciences Library and Mama Anisa Children's Library.
